Since the 80’s, Jan Vijg has been fascinated with the process of aging. This, having heard a fascinating talk on the subject back when he was a student at the University of Leiden. The speaker, then, “actually mentioned the possibility that we age because damage is accumulating in our DNA—the DNA of our cells and tissues. And I never forgot that,” says Vijg.
