On today's episode, in honor of Black History Month, we are bringing you a special,

never-released episode with journalist and Emmy award-winning television producer,

my friend, Jamil Smith.

Jamil is an extraordinary person who I will tell you all about in just a minute,

but first a little secret.

We actually recorded the bulk of this episode in early 2020.

Jamil and I, after the beginning of the pandemic,

ended up recording a second episode that we decided to release that year instead.

Which you'll hear in next week's re-release, but after going back and listening

to both parts of our conversation and totality, I felt that this deserved to make its way

into your home, your car, your earbuds, or wherever you find yourself listening to this podcast.

There are portions of this conversation that we had then that feel even more relevant to me now.

And as we all look at the landscape of the world around us and how best to show up for each other,
