Welcome to a new series about to lunch the podcast where brilliant people open up to me

over a meal at a top restaurant. This whole thing came about because I've always found

dining tables to be the ultimate situation for a confessional. Perhaps order a bottle

of something decent to lubricate matters, sit back and let them go.

Coming up in series 2, I'll be breaking bread with the likes of Dermito Leary, Guy Garvey

and Nadia Hussein. But for starters, I've invited long and extraordinary pianist and
