So week,

nine, here we are.

Last week we looked at a marker of genuine faith,

and that marker was that genuine faith hates

the wisdom and the ways of the world.

And we talked about the difference between earthly wisdom and godly wisdom, and we talked about the difference between earthly wisdom and we talked about the difference

between being a friend of the world and being a friend of God.

And we saw that it was impossible to be a friend of the world and be a friend of God,

that to be a friend of the world was to be an enemy of God, which means

that we are going to end up living our lives here as aliens and strangers.

So if you think back to middle school and what you felt like in middle school when you walked into the cafeteria, you may remember that feeling of, oh my gosh, just I don't want anyone's attention on me, I just want to blend in, right?

I'm the only one.

And so when I was in middle school, back in the day, when would that have been, 1981 to

83 about, getting to blend in in the cafeteria meant that I got a page boy haircut and I had

add a beads necklaces and I had a polo shirt well for me I couldn't get the polo

shirt so I had the fake jacie penny one that just had a horse but if you look closely there was no rider on it.

And you know the certain genes that you had to wear I believe it was Gloria Vanderbilt at the time and actually those spperry top-siders that are back in

yeah you owe that to us back in 1981 so you wanted to look just like that so that

when you walked into the cafeteria no one would know it wasn't

about looking awesome it was about not being singled out for ridicule was really what

it was about and I think that sometimes we take on this mentality as citizens of this earth.
