The Lord Jesus had 12 original disciples, but those men were just the first of many more followers of Christ.

0:14.0

They are an example for us to learn from and a reminder that God works in ordinary people.

0:20.0

Are you a true follower of Jesus Christ?

0:22.6

Let's study the 12th with Scott Pauli today

0:25.6

and find truth that will help us all to follow more closely to Christ.

0:30.6

Many of these disciples, God gives us so much information about.

0:45.1

I mean, frankly, as you walk through the gospel records, you take somebody like Simon Peter or John, there are all these conversations and biographical facts and just lots of information, so much so

0:56.5

it's hard to summarize them in one study. But today, we have come to a man who was one of our

1:02.2

Lord's original disciples. He was one of the 12. And the only thing we know about him is his name.

1:34.9

Let's go back to our original list for just a moment. It's found in Mark chapter number three.

1:39.2

You'll remember that we are following this pattern in Mark three with one exception, and that is we began with

1:45.2

Andrew. Andrew is not first on any of the list, but we started with him because that's where Jesus

1:50.3

started. Remember, Andrew was the first to follow Christ, and then through Andrew, the Lord

1:56.4

witnessed to Peter, and Peter then became a follower of the Lord. So we began our study with

2:02.5

Andrew. And then following this list, you have Simon, who Jesus surnames Peter. You have James,

2:08.4

the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James. Then you had Philip, you have Bartholomew,

2:15.0

you have Matthew, you have Thomas.
