Hey, this is Craig and welcome to this week's episode of the full 60.

And I'm already smiling because we started telling stories before recorded.

Then we're like, hey, let's just hit the record button and do this, and we can show the stories with you guys.

I am thrilled to have James Duffy, of course, of TSN.

Also, the author, his latest book is called Beauty's Hockey's Greatest Untold Stories.

And, first of all, James, welcome.

Thanks for doing this.

Well, thanks for having me, both.

I want to say first and foremost, before we get into a couple of things we're talking about,

what I loved about this book, and maybe it's just because

of my time covering the league, is we're starting to enter this time where the stories of the

current athletes are being told. Like, it seemed like before it was like, hey, here's all these

great books about people from like the 70s or whatever. And that's fine. But it's way more

fun to me as a hockey fan and somebody in the, you know, covering the game right now to here's a great story you've never heard from, you know, Connor McDavid or Austin Matthews. I love that. Like that really made this fun. Well, thank you. And it's become harder and harder to do, I think. That's part of it is. And you're right. You most pocky books about stuff from the 80s 90s

60s beyond and there are a few stories like that obviously i'm going to write this book i wanted

stories about wayne gretzky and brett hall and some of those guys but it's harder and harder

i think to get guys to tell stories like that.

And, you know, in general, the retired player tells a better story anyway because he feels freed from the bounds of everything.

But I was really genuinely surprised by guys like Crosby and McDavid and so on,

that once you get him away from those intermission interviews
