There are positives and there are negatives, just like you always see on social media. But that's okay. I love that image. It was a nice surprise on a Saturday night. One of the reasons

why I like the fact that number one, I make my email address available, and number two, I read all

of them. Because despite the hundreds of frogs I get, every once in a while there's a prince,

and that's a prince. That was great. That was fun, and that was worth it. And thank you. I'd say the name of the person who sent it if I remembered the name, but I will

debut meter.

This is a very highly scientific and technical exercise in which we're going to assign a number between one and ten with decimal points if need be for the performance of the various rookies who made their debuts this weekend.

After studying their performances from every possible camera angle, coaches film, etc., which I'm sure you did, Chris.

I know I did.

Cam Ward, Titans quarterback in his debut, two series against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,

five for eight, 67 yards.

What grade would you give him for his debut?

I'd give it a nine.

I mean, one, Cam Ward, the talent just pops off the screen.

That's like, I know I just talked about Chador and Jackson Dart, and I like them. They play the game the right way and all of that, but I'm not necessarily wowed by their arm, right? They're accurate. They got timing, rhythm. They anticipate really well. Cam Ward is one of those guys where you watch a few throws, you go, whoa, that's special right there.

Got a special arm, got a special hand to flick the ball. His incompletions, they were even in the right spots. They were right reads. It was just tough coverage where it was kind of like a bang, bang play, and ended up being incomplete that way. But, man, you know, if you just watched that game, one, I don't know how you wouldn't see his talent and go, ooh, that ball looks a little different when it comes out of his hand. And secondly, when you listen to the announcers and the way they talked about Cam Ward from whether they heard it from the coaches or what they saw in practice, it seems like everybody's a little wowed by Cam Ward right now in the NFL, at least that's seen them. All that stuff I said at the beginning was just the set up to the fact that

my approach in the preseason is pass, fail, or incomplete. Yeah, right. I'm sorry if I'm screwing up

the social media graphic, but I'm not given a number. I'm not in a position to apply a

number. We didn't see enough to apply a number. We see enough to decide pass, fail, or incomplete.

And he passes. It's the eyeball test. That's what we always talk about every preseason.

He passes the eyeball test, and you and I both think they may have something special there.
