Summary

RHLSTP #610 - Cake in a Graveyard - Richard is excited about the breaking news (at time of recording). Broken years ago by this podcast and treats the audience to his poem about the disgraced Randrew Andrew. His guest is a woman with a life that feels like it has been moulded by Greek Gods fighting with a genie, the very open and frank and incredible Jameela Jamil. And she is not alone. She brings two further guests, one of whom has been vomiting blood. All in a day’s normalcy for Jameela. They discuss he brilliant podcast Wrong Moves with Jameela Jamil, kicking a stunt man in the dick, running into a force field with a cake, the bee-based car accident that nearly killed her, but led to the best year of her life (she claims), the lies she’s told to get jobs and the incredible and unbelievable truths that have accompanied her on her journey, how a school bully led to her becoming an actor (but long after they’d left school), her imminent 40th birthday, how our respective gigs for Elton John went, an incredible story about paying for someone’s IVF that should completely be a sitcom and how Richard might just be a peripheral side character in the simulation that is Jameela’s impossible life. This is up there with Brian Blessed, but I think this time, it’s all true.

It's really good. Have some fun with that. Herring, 1967.

Some bad news. I have a medical issue, which I will discuss at some point later.

Substack paid subscribers know about it. You get all the down low if you pay to

subscribe on substack. But it does mean that there's a procedure going on in June, which will mean

0:28.1

I think I have to cancel the Leicester Square Theatre gigs on the 1st and 8th of July. Hopefully

0:33.5

everything else will still be going on, the Droitwich gig, which is sold out. I'm doing stand-up gigs at St. Albans on the 7th of June, along with Katie Wilkins, my beautiful wife, in the Roman Theatre.

0:47.5

And they've just added an extra show to that.

0:51.3

So there's a later show with lots of tickets available.

0:54.0

I'd love to see you there. If you can get to St. Albans on the Sunday night. I'm very much hoping that show. We'll still go ahead. I think it should. And hopefully everything will be all right for the Edinburgh Fringe. You can also get details of the tickets for that. Richardhering.com slash Rahalastapa. I'll start booking guests soon, but, Kay, you know, whoever it is, it's going to be good. And it should, the podcast should be going out for the rest of the year as well. So you will be able to hear them at home if you can't get to the Edinburgh Fringe. But everything's okay. Don't worry about me. It should be all right.

1:29.7

But if you can support me in any way, either by coming to a gig or becoming a badger or a

listening. Enjoy this podcast. Do tell your friends. Goodbye.

No, you don't, do you?

They're the mascots of the 2012 London Olympics, the horrible mascots. You all thought the 2012 London Olympics was amazing, wasn't it? You've forgotten about when, when look at Manderville, who were horrible, one-eyed, terrifying creatures. Anyway, they call it Rahalester Passen. See if that's going to catch on, you never know.
