Since today's honesty,

six years since Kobe passed,

and we were kind of talking about

the hardest story you had the job.

And I just remember, like, where I was, like, I was an OKC after shoot around or practice. And I just remember just sitting in front of the TV on the couch, still in my practice care. Like, I'm supposed to turn it in, but I'm like, I haven't been able to move, like, watching this news. I been able to move like watching this news i think there's no way this is real there's no way this is real where were you when um when that news dropped on the couch i was watching like you it's weird how you picture it so clearly right i'm watching i'm watching maryland play at indiana um stick smith and mary Maryland went out to Assembly Hall. He played great. They got a big win. I'm watching. This is cool. This is great. They're playing high-level game. And then, like, they're crawl on the bottom of the screen. And then Twitter and, like, you're putting it together. And this, no way, no way, no way. And then, no, actually then no actually is real i was supposed to be off that night and then i got a call from our news desk and like this

is a real thing that's happened and they asked would you come in and do uh the show this evening and i said

i mean of course and then your show becomes something totally different um and it was the same type of thing where, again, this is different because I wasn't reacting in real time. At least I had the afternoon and the evening to try to gather my thoughts and think about what is it I want to say to say about this let me start with father and husband

who happened to be on the short list of all time greats and recognizing to your point how

the modern star are processing this right this is you know if you're old enough like me like maybe

you look at it through

Jordan like Jordan's the guy or maybe it's LeBron or Kobe's in that conversation for a lot of

people I mean you're talking about one of the all-time greats and the fact that he's lost
