It does strike home and I probably have an exclamation point on this topic that's more unique than probably anyone because I was the product as a child out of wedlock of a deadbeat dad.

Rest in peace, Jimmy Walker, the number one pick in the 1967 NBA draft. I also pay child

support. I also raised the son of a deadbeat who didn't pay child support, who was also

born out of wedlock.

With that being said, this is how you handle it when you're the parent.

You could throw around numbers in the courtroom about what's going to be paid and not.

That's something that's out of the parent's hands.

What I will acknowledge for everyone out there,

It's a problem that permeates through our society, in particular through my culture, the black culture.

And that's individuals, male and female, in a lot of cases, having multiple kids by multiple parents.

When you do that, that all of a sudden has you looking down at your ledger at the end of the month saying, not only am I taking care of the residence

and the roof over my head, but I'm also required to do that exact same thing in multiple

places. One of the most hurtful and embarrassing things I've seen happen to an athlete,

his name was Antonio Comrade.

And I appreciate the fact that he doesn't miss games in his decade of plus of playing NFL football.
