I have to say, it's really fun for me to see how you're reacting to the show, what

you're getting out of it, what you dig. I loved people being happy about the fact that we had Ellen Barkin on because not only because

she's just incredible but also the fact that she was a woman I had started to get all these tweets about

having women guests and I had been trying and trying and I have more lined up and to me a great artist, a great creative person, male, female,

it doesn't matter.

I'm excited to talk to them. So it was great to get my sister Jenny and Ellen and more to come.

Hopefully Amy Mann very soon said she'd do it. Liz Fair, who's two of my absolute songwriting heroes,

I think are going to be coming up.

Today's guest is Jake Kasten. If you've been listening a while, you know that I pretty much

book all these guests and know them and many of them are my friends. I've never met Jake

before and he was pitched to me and when this has happened before I've usually turned it down

But I am a real I'm a real fan of Jake Kasten. There's a movie he made probably his least

known movie that's really important to me and I plan to really dive in and talk about it.

You know his dad, Larry Kasten, one of the greatest filmmakers who ever lived, maybe the greatest screenwriter and

incredibly influential director.

You know, if Jake were a friend of mine, I would definitely like ask about it and growing up that way and I'm going to try to find a way to dive into it because there are certain resonances in his dealing with that to my own life that I want to bring up.
