Today we bring you two recent interviews first with

Robert Cutner the co-editor of the American Prospect and this interview was

done the day after Cutner posted his conversation with White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, just

as Bannon was being ousted likely for his call to Cutner.

They discussed China and North Korea and our second interview is with

Bruce Cummings, University of Chicago historian who's a leading expert on Korea.

Cummings brings us the needed historical perspective to help us understand North Korea's development of the nuclear deterrent.

I'm Susie Wiseman and we are delighted to have today Robert Cutner the editor of the

American Prospect I guess we'll call him from now on the man who took down

Bannon but he's also been recognized as one of our most incisive analysts of the world political

economy and American politics and given this long established left-wing

credentials and reputation Bob Cutner was surprised maybe even stunned to be contacted last Tuesday by

none other than Steve Bannon to have a chat.

And the count of that a chat is in an article that appeared on the American Prospect website.

Steve Vanen, of course, is the central architect of Trump's electoral victory

and was his chief strategist, but through thick and thin, he's been one of Trump's main political

advisors and the central formulator of the so-called Nationalist Populous Political

Perspective that helped Trump to victory and its main advocate in the administration ever since.

And Bannon was offering his analysis to Robert Cutler on key issues like Trump's aggressive

policy toward North Korea, the administration's approach to China in its position more generally on trade,
