The Arizona Teacher's Movement,

Red for Ed has scored a win with their walkout.

They have realized their power and they aren't going away.

We cover the teachers and public sector strikes with veteran union negotiators strike solidarity

activists and labor lawyer Joe Burns who's written two books on the strike

weapon. He says there are no illegal strikes just just unsuccessful ones, and labor law won't save us.

In other words, the teachers are showing the way and reviving the most powerful weapon in the

working class arsenal, the power of the strike.

We'll get his take.

We then look at US foreign policy

and the intellectual and anti-democratic origins

of the US National Security State

with Daniel Bessner, who teaches at the Henry Jackson School at

the University of Washington. He has a new book out Democracy and Exile and we

talk to him about how Trump represents a continuation rather than a break in the history of U.S. foreign policy,

the rise of intellectuals in foreign policy institutions and think tanks with all the anti-democratic

implications, as well as what a left foreign policy might look like.
