We don't have all the final tallies, but we can look at the bigger picture.

And for that, I've asked UCLA economic historian Robert Brenner to join us for the hour.

Let's call it the post-election blues and analysis.

We are recording this program before all of the votes have been counted in California,

Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.

The totals will change.

Trump's margin of victory will likely shrink,

but not the overall results. We have an insufficient picture of the precise demographic of the votes,

but we'll spend our time trying to understand what happened, how to analyze it, and what tasks

lay ahead. All this when our program returns in just a moment.

margins of victory for Donald Trump on Tuesday and the Republicans across the board, bolstered by

working class men above all, deciding that the Democrats had forgotten about them. As Joe Hill said,

don't mourn, organize. But first, we need to understand this move to the far right.

It's happening globally, but especially now here. Kamala Harris was put into a uniquely difficult situation,

mounting a campaign without winning a primary and with very little time. She was disciplined and on message, a very
