Earlier this year, Crossway released several new audio Bibles,

designed to offer God's people yet one more way to engage deeply with His Word, as they hear it read aloud.

But what was it like to actually create such a recording?

What would it be like to read the whole Bible aloud, one verse at a time?

Today I'm sitting down with Jackie Hill Perry to ask her those questions and more.

Jackie is a Bible teacher, a poet, a hip-hop artist, and an award-winning author.

She's also one of the newest narrators of the ESV Bible, and her recording is now available

on audio CD as a digital download and via the ESV Bible app.

In our conversation, she shares what it was like to spend over 65 hours reading God's

word aloud in a recording studio, with unsaved audio engineers listening in the whole time.

She also shares how God used that experience to change the way she views the Bible.

But that quote seems really relevant for the conversation that I'm hoping we can have
