Between August and November 1888, a horrifying series of murders took place in the Whitechapel district in East London.

At least five working women were killed and mutilated. The killer was called by various names. He was known as the

Whitechapel murderer, leather apron, and most famously as Jack the Ripper. His case received enhanced

publicity when newspapers began publishing letters

claiming to be from him. But Jack the Ripper was never caught. So what did he do? Who are

the likely candidates for who he was? And has the Jack the Ripper case finally been solved?

That's what we'll be talking about on this episode of Jimmy Ikin's Mysterious

World. Jimmy, what do we need to say to begin? Well, as always, when we do true crime on

mysterious world, we're going to be keeping things clinical. We're not going to be using scary

music or sensationalistic descriptions to make this episode scary. we're only going to be used in basic,

matter-of-fact descriptions of the Ripper's crimes. We'll be saying things like this person

was killed on this date. Also, this is the first part of a two-part story. Today, we'll be looking
