In recent days, prominent MAGA figures, including the Trump campaign, J.D. Vance and

Senator Ted Cruz, have pushed a repulsive lie that Haitian immigrants are eating people's pets.

Though this was decisively debunked, Vance actually

called on Trump supporters to keep on pushing versions of the lie. We think this saga, and Vance's

handling of it, exposes something deeply disturbing about how MAGA propaganda and dehumanization

campaigns really function.
