Hello again, Story Club members.

I'm Ivy, your ghostly host with the most, and keeper of the strangest,

spurious tales on earth.

Today is another Ivy's chilling tale, but it's brought to you from the imagination of

Jack McPherson. Jack's tale might make you rethink your next visit to the playground. It's a tale

that he calls the playground. One day Joseph was playing in the school playground.

It was a bright and sunny day, and Joseph didn't have a care in the world.

He kept playing even after all the other kids went home.

He was having too much fun to stop.

But then, when he was all alone, Joseph saw something

that made him freeze. Something was sitting at the bottom of the slide. It had long, bony arms and

legs. It had no eyes, no nose, just a mouth with a long tongue sticking out.

Joseph was horrified, but he tried to stay calm. It doesn't have eyes, so it can't see me, right?

He thought as he started to back away. Suddenly the creature made a clickety-clack, clickety-clack,

sound with its mouth as its tongue licked at the air.

What the, Joseph thought.

Can it somehow taste me?

This question was shortly answered

as the creature started to crawl slowly toward him, still

licking at the air. Joseph began to run. He heard the monster galloping behind him. Joseph's heart

was beating faster and faster and faster as he started to climb up the playground apparatus.

Joseph had run across the playground and was staying close to the slide in case he needed a quick getaway. Then he felt something grab his foot.
