Okay, so the Trump team unveiled a new immigration framework on Thursday with a path to citizenship

for dreamers in exchange for a $25 billion trust

fund for the border wall and sweeping changes to the legal immigration system and I had to call my good friend White House correspondent

for Buzzfeed News Tarini party about all this. Hey Tarini.

Hey Holyo. You know the plan includes massive cuts in family-based

migration and end to the visa lottery system. So what are your first

impressions of the language being used in that framework.

So it seems like they were trying to please two opposite sides of the spectrum all at once,

and in doing so they really didn't please anybody

of those people.

So on one side you have Trump essentially,

you know, agreeing to a pathway to citizenship

for DACA recipients.

And then on the other side, you have $25 billion

in border security, whether that's for the law

or other security measures.

And then you have pretty tight restrictions on legal

immigration in ways that we haven't seen in decades really being being proposed or by

a White House. So let's talk about the DACA legalization, which one point, basically saying anyone who's

on DACA or anyone that's DACA eligible, so it's about 1.8, you mentioned it 10 to 12 year pathway to citizenship, work

requirements, education, and then good moral character, Tarini. These DACA
