Being in college you know in the early 1980s, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala,

this was like the biggest story of our time and you know I actually lived through seeing a successful guerrilla left

revolution in the Sandinista Revolution of 1979, like we actually saw them topple

a dictator.

But then the other side of that was that the United States

started, you know, really putting a big, big foot

on all of Central America.

So these things that we're now talking about, it's like it was

real life for me. Like it was part of going to college was going to

protests around Central America. Yeah and and seeing the Ortega presidency now and seeing the images and being told
