The race is on and McLaren ended its nine and a half year windrout with Daniel Ricardo's victory in the Italian Grand Prix.

But there was also massive controversy as title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen collided yet again.

I'm Ed Straw and joining me to explain how it all happened

and the fallout as Scott Mitchell and Mark Hughes.

Well Mark we're going to get into the controversy in a minute

but after a slightly subdued Saturday,

it was another event for a race on Sunday

so Monza has absolutely delivered, hasn't it?

It has, yeah, with a bit of controversy.

But it was even controversy aside, it was a lot of, it was a race with a lot of, you know,

Willie Wonty about Danny Ricardo and there was a lot of tension about it.

Will the McLarens be overhauled?

You know, they had a faster car's coming up behind them at one stage.

So yeah, it was interesting and yeah, lived up to sort of an old school of Monza thriller.

Yeah, absolutely.

That's what everyone associates with Monza.

Not always the most dramatic races, though, in recent years,

but this one was, yeah, a real thriller.

And Scott Mitchell, you've had a little bit of controversy and eventfulness this week

with all sorts of travel plan changes and the like.

Yeah, yeah.
