Just a few days after the Formula One paddock departed Spar in the Belgian Grand Prix,

it's all set up again as usual at Monza. Although in this most unusual of years,

there's another Italian race to look forward to next week as well at Magello.

But the Italian Grand Prix is up first at its usual home and the pre-event media day

took place at Monza today. There was the standard and the pre-event media day took place at Monsor today.

There was the standard mix of pre-event noise, but one proper development took place today.

As it was announced that the Williams family will step down from running the team it had owned for its entire existence until just a short while ago when it was sold to investment company, Doralton Capital.

How big a shock, first of all, was this?

Or was it always coming?

Was it expected after the team had been sold? I think it was a shock, but partly because this is the end of the road as a Formula One team owner and team boss for Frank Williams.

I think that was more the surprise.

And the way that Williams announced, they put a press release out that said Claire Williams will be stepping down after this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, which wasn't a massive shock. You know, Doralton, you know, want to do things their own way. They're serious.
