So my son turns 12 today.

He had a sleepover over the weekend.

Actually, didn't have a sleepover.

He had a play thing all day long.

None of these friends' parents are into sleepovers for some reason.

But anyway, I took them to the gas station so they could load up on junk food.

That was one thing we've done in years past.

So you can each get one soda and like one little bag of chips or candy or something.

So I had four 12-year-olds in my car, and it smelled like a freaking locker room.

Oh, yeah.

As they had been playing all day long, and I thought, man, this is one of the changes from when

you were seven.

You can't smell a seven-year-old.

You can't even tell they're there.

You can sure smell a four, seven-year-old. You can't even tell they're there. You can sure smell four 12-year-olds.

It's like a switch being flipped, too.

It's amazing.
