Let's all stand together in our reading of the word.

I'm going to do this, though, is I'm going to read just because it's been so long,

I've realized, wow, we've been marinating in this area of Romans 8, these few verses

that it'd probably be good for you to hear, read the full context that's before us.

And then I'm going to have you jump in.

And don't worry, listen up, and then I'll cue you as to when you can start reading.

But on the screens, and I'll read from verse 1 to 11, there is therefore now no condemnation

to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according

to the Spirit, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from

the law of sin and death.

Notice how he speaks in past tense.

He's been freed.

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending

his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh on account of sin.

He, Jesus, condemned sin in the flesh.

In other words, what none of our flesh could do by keeping the Ten Commandments, don't

even fool yourself for a second.

You and I cannot even get close to the Ten Commandments.

Jesus came and met all of the standards of the Ten Commandments both actively and in

Spirit, and in that he did it as a human being.

That's awesome.

That's why he's our prototype.
