RNC in Milwaukee, and, you know, we had bookend weekends to absolute insanity.

On Saturday, the former president was nearly shot and killed in an assassination attempt.

He showed up to Milwaukee.

It was a convention unlike anything that I had seen before. It felt very positive and unified. It was a convention unlike anything that I had seen before. It felt

very positive and unified. It crescendoed with a lot of energy Thursday night. What did you

experience at the RNC that was different from other conventions you've covered?

Well, I had the same feeling you did. And honestly, conventions are a lot about vibes, right?

You're trying to unify the party. You're trying to get volunteers excited, particularly in a

swingy state like Wisconsin is, which is why it was held in Milwaukee. You're trying to get

energy. And I think, though it was a traumatic experience for everyone, the near assassination

of former President Donald Trump on Saturday was about the best recipe for unity you're

going to have during that week. But I thought what was interesting about it is it could easily

have been, as many cable hosts were warning, that this could be so dark and so disturbing for people to get, you know, angry that their candidate had almost been killed, which I think is a fair emotion.

But the tone of the programming of the convention was extremely good.

It was moving. It was moving.
