Happy Monday, everybody. Okay, so the Department of Homeland Security is shut down because of a government

funding dispute about ICE, the immigration enforcement agency. Democrats don't want to fund it after

all the stuff that went on in Minnesota. At least they don't want to fund it until there are some

reforms made, I mean, specifically just stuff like they don't want ICE agents running around in masks.

But in the meantime, because the TSA is part of DHS, it's under DHS, airport security is

incredibly chaotic and dysfunctional because the TSA agents aren't being

paid.

Catherine, to me, this is just a story about stupid American bureaucracy, about departments

we don't need, agencies that never should have existed, right?

Travel times are up for flyers because of a political dispute about ICE agents wearing masks.

Yeah, I mean, the fact that your opening remarks were like entirely alphabet soup is always a good sign that something has gotten terribly wrong.

Like the TSA and the DHS and the ICE and the whatever can't get their shit together.

Great.

But DHS was going to help with the interagency.

I hate that.
