0:43.0	56 years ago, I was abandoned by my first husband in this town in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
0:54.0	I was sexually abused by my father for many years.
1:00.0	Always really felt like nobody would ever want me or love me.
1:03.0	And so the first young man that paid any attention to me, I grabbed him up because I thought I'd never have anybody.
1:11.0	I knew down deep inside it wasn't right when I did it, but desperate people do desperate things and desperate people do stupid things.

1:22.0	So we got married. I was 18. I think he was 19.
1:29.0	He was a used car salesman and back then they would pay people to, like if somebody here wanted a certain kind of car and there was one of them in St. Louis or wherever.
1:47.0	The car dealership here would pay somebody from there to drive the car here.
1:52.0	And so that was part of how he made money, was he would drive cars to places.
1:59.0	Well, the plan was he was going to drive that car here and then he was going to work at the car lot and I was going to get a job and we were going to live happily ever after.
2:09.0	We checked into a motel and I don't remember where this was.
2:15.0	I got a little job down the street that I could walk to and some kind of an office, always did office work.
2:21.0	He went off to work. I think another friend had driven down here with his friend to his.
2:29.0	Long story short, I don't know, 10 days probably no more than that. He just didn't come back. He just went one day and didn't come back.
2:42.0	Now I was married to this guy for five years but it was a totally crazy, crazy ride.
2:48.0	He did the same thing to me one time in Oakland, California. And I've also been back there and done a conference.
