Hey, side door listeners, I just want to pop in and let you know that we are one week

away from the start of our brand new season on Wednesday, October 6th.

It's been a rough and rowdy couple of months running around the Smithsonian, reporting

some wild stories to bring to you.

And I don't want to give too much away, but I will tell you that this season we're going

to get up close and personal with some charismatic elephants at the National Zoo.

We'll dig through the archives for a new story behind a culture-shifting civil rights

speech.

And Trump through the forest looking for the most valuable and elusive botanical on American

soil.

I mean, I used to see in several parks, 30, 40 jeans and punks.

Now I go, I found a one.

We'll see if a robot can tell a good story, and I personally will face a lifelong fear

of leeches as we go sloshing through a Smithsonian swamp insert to those suckers.

So if you spread out, we have a greater chance of finding leeches.

This is what happens in every horror movie though.

You spread out and bad things happen.
