We've returned on the show Monday lunchtime as it is now, Phil.

Probably worth rewinding to just before the weekend just to explain why we didn't do the show

on Friday for reasons beyond the obvious.

The plan had been to record on Friday, as usual, post Jesse Marsh's press conference,

which was planned for half-past 1 in the afternoon.

We would have sat down around about half-past 2, 3 o'clock.

It was quite obvious, I think, from Thursday

night onwards that they were going to have to be big decisions made about the schedule.

So logistically, it was difficult to record a podcast minus a press conference and minus a game

at the weekend. But the Athletic took the decision overnight on Thursday to cease publication

for a limited period of time, just out of respect.

And the same was done with podcasts and videos as well.

And all in all, it was felt that last Friday was not really the time to spend an hour

talking about football, given that there were bigger things going on in the world.

And also, there wasn't a huge amount of football to talk about.

The other side of that is that it's impossible to strike the right tone as well, isn't it? Like, if we'd have gone ahead and recorded, somebody would have said, that's not respectful
