Last week, it became official.

Free ride skiing and snowboarding are going to be Olympic events starting in 2030.

So in the wake of this huge announcement, I sat down with Free Ride World Tour co-founder and CEO, Nico Hale Woods, who has been pivotal

in this development, to talk to him about this process that has taken many years, how it

finally came to be, and why now?

We talk about the opportunities it represents for free ride athletes today and

some of the potential risks, challenges, and prospects. Now, there are certainly a lot of strong

opinions on this topic of free ride becoming an Olympic event, and this conversation that you are about to hear,

I think, will provide you with the important backstory and context to inform your own opinion.
