It's Destin Choice.

0:10.7

And I wanted to get my podcast real quick because I wanted to talk about a lot of very interesting things.

0:14.8

And one of the things I want to talk about is it is not your fucking job to be somebody's

0:18.9

therapist.

0:19.6

0:23.0

Now, a lot of us sometimes catch ourselves climbing out of these dark places and these dark spaces and, you know, blooming into who we really want to be and who we need to be.

0:32.6

So the issue is many of us will sometimes hang out with a whole bunch of losers and bums.

0:37.2

But the thing is, we grew up with these losers and bums that were related to these losers and bums, and we don't want them to be jealous of us or self-conscious around us. So we push them to be better people and to motivate them to be, you know, just the best they can be like, hey, yeah, you can do it. Like, hey, you know, apply here. Like, apply here. or hey, like, I submit these applications for you or hey I helped you out with this that and a third or hey look look I got you this so that way you can like be a better person and a lot of time these people would be like oh my god so cool thank you so much and then you get you you ask for a whole update and acts them like hey like did you apply did you take my advice did you listen to me they hit you with that oh my bad I was sleep oh my bad I didn't know you all you literally go over your fucking pay grade to go out of your way to push somebody and motivate somebody to be a better person and then they don't take your advice you know what I mean a lot of you gotta understand and I don know who needs to hear this, it is not your fucking job to be somebody's therapist.

1:30.6

And let me tell you why. Some of y'all will literally sit up here and breathe over somebody's necks, and then you'll do it consecutively, repeatedly, and then get upset when they don't take your advice. you get irritated, you get angry.

1:40.5

And I used to be that person.

1:41.5

I used to be that person.

1:42.4

Like when it came to my brother

1:43.7

or when it came to people

1:45.5

that I was friends with at some point,

1:46.8

people that I was cool with,

1:48.0

well, look, get angry and I used to be that person I used to be that person like when it came to my brother or when it came to people that I was friends with at some point people that I was cool with well acquainted with pushing to be better and then I would ask them for an update and it's oh I forgot I was scratching my ass my head hurt my ass hurt my teeth hurt my tith hurt my tithes hurt my nipples hurt, I've been sweating all day. Oh, I've been working all day.

2:01.6

Oh, I've been doing this.

2:02.6

Or yeah, I'm going to do it later. And then I used to like get so fucking upset and angry and go off because I'm like, dude, I've been telling you this consecutively. And for the fourth, fifth time, now that I'm bringing this up again, you're acting acting stupid and you don't you act like you don't want to be a better person but my

2:18.5

issue was this and ended up having a really bad

2:20.9

fallout with somebody because of this it's not my responsibility to be somebody's

2:25.2

therapist and I had an issue of doing that because I kept trying to expect people to be
