Summary

How many epiphanies will we come to in our lives? How many cycles of the spiritual journey will we go on? Well, maybe that’s the point. In today’s episode, Rachel talks about feeling lost again and again. With her husband away, her to-do list is overflowing, she has lost her voice, her daughter has gotten sick, and her son has the chicken pox. But maybe it’s not about having a perfectly peaceful life all the time. It’s about the moment where we catch ourselves, realize we are off the path, and work toward venturing back. It’s a practice! I’s learning to love the journey as much as the destination. Rachel opens up about it all. And whatever journey you may be on right now, this episode will remind you to keep your eyes on the horizon. You’re living life, and you’re getting there. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. 0:07.1

and how again and again we are going to find ourselves feeling lost, realizing we're

0:14.2

off the path, we're out of alignment, we're not feeling good, and how it's actually that

0:19.5

moment of catching ourselves, realizing we're off the path

that begins that deeply sacred journey of venturing back and how it's not about the destination

0:31.4

arriving at a place where everything is always perfect but how that journey from being

off the path to coming back home is life itself.

0:41.4

So yeah, it's a deep episode this week. And at the end, I also talk about chicken pox.

Hi, friends. Hello, hello. Welcome to a brand new episode of the show. I am sitting here with my

1:03.3

headphones on and as I started speaking, I had to look at my recorder and go, wait, something's

1:10.4

wrong. With the recorder with the, with the,

1:12.5

with the, my voice is all distorted. And then I remembered, no, I've just lost my voice.

1:20.2

And I haven't heard my voice with headphones on. I am, I don't know what on earth is going on. Or I guess I know, I do know what's going on. I just, I don't know what on earth is going on, or I guess I do know what's going on. I just

1:30.5

I'm confused as to why it's presenting this way. But so I've lost my voice. Yeah, you can tell. Again,

1:38.7

again. And this is the third time this year that I've lost my voice completely to the point where

1:45.8

it's hard for me to record a podcast. And I've always had my things in my body, these somatic

1:57.1

responses to difficult things that happen in my day to today. So when I'm stressed or feeling overwhelmed

2:04.8

or I'm taking on too much or not sleeping well, I have the kind of go-to stuff that presents in my body.

2:13.1

And it's usually back pain. Back pain has been the thing since I was a young teenager, kind of preteen.

2:21.5

It's always been back pain. I get this upper back, sometimes lower back. Usually it's upper

2:26.4

mid back and neck intense tension. And sometimes I throw my back out. And that's the sign of, okay, I've overdone it.
