0:18.1	Pastor Joby, I want to start with a quote from Charles Spurgeon.
0:21.5	Oh, good.
0:22.7	Spurge.
0:23.4	That's a good place to start.
0:26.6	Great, here's the quote.
0:27.7	Great faith is not always loud or public.
0:31.9	Sometimes it is a trembling hand stretched out in desperation.
0:37.4	Amen. So in this section of Matthew 9, Jesus
0:43.4	is continuing to demonstrate his authority. That word came up a little bit before this.
0:48.7	And I'm struck by the phrase that he responds to people with often, not just here, your faith has made you well.
0:57.3	And it made me think about two different types of people who come to Jesus.
1:01.6	Mostly the Pharisees or scribes would come to him, and they're not coming to him with faith or desperation.
1:09.0	The motive of the heart is like, I got a bone to pick with you, or like, I want to start a fight or a debate.
1:16.4	But then Jesus recognizes when people, and obviously in this one, the two people that come to him, they're coming from a motivation of faith.
1:27.0	And there's this, you have a great quote tonight about need, which I want to talk about.
1:32.0	But just at the outset, why do you think, can we talk about that difference?
