| 1:08.5 | My whole goal and everything I was doing was how are I going to form a |
| 1:11.8 | lasting relationship beyond transactional because transactional relationships like Chris Voss, |
| 1:16.7 | retired FBI guy, hostage negotiator, one of the best in the world hands down. But what these |
| 1:22.7 | crisis negotiators focus on is a transactional dialogue and relationship. And it's very effective, very good. I need to keep going |
| 1:30.4 | because if you're going to work with confidential human sources, spies, recruitments, and all that, |
| 1:35.2 | it's much more than a transactional relationship. It's a real deep-seated, rooted relationship forged on trust. |
| 1:42.2 | And so when I'm doing my assessments, yeah, body language plays a |
| 1:46.8 | large part of it because I'm going to get a lot of leakage on whether I'm making a connection |
| 1:50.5 | or not. And most importantly, are they comfortable and feel safe? Because that's the preeminent thing |
| 1:55.5 | that inspires people to move forward is fear and safety. Do they feel safe with me? And what happens is in my mind, |
| 2:03.7 | if you're focused only on body language and interpreting what the body language is doing, |
| 2:08.5 | you're missing everything else because you're giving yourself a body language confirmation bias. |
