I'm Daniel Schneider. So yeah, welcome to Filmhouse. Us is the second movie written and directed by Jordan Peel, the new king of the horror thriller.

Peel has seemingly joined a small group of filmmakers who are their own brand, seemingly with just two feature films.

Us starts with a normal family beach vacation that goes very wrong when that family's really creepy doppelgangers show up.

Us, it's a lot of different horror genres, I think, blended together. There's a home invasion, there's some slasher, there's some chase horror, and a few other different things, but that gets a little bit into spoiler territory.

But I think horror fans should like it. There's a lot of brutal kills.

There's a lot of blood, some good jump scares,

and actually some really solid jokes, I think,

that took the levity out of it when it needed to be.

And the film then escalates into, I think,

what is probably a very divisive ending for filmgoers.
