On this episode, we talk a lot about voting, so we have the news of me, Brett D. Clinton,

Sam, as always.

We also have Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, Ari Berman, who

is a senior reporter with Mother Jones, and then we have Faz Shakir, who is the National

Political Director of the ACLU.

Before we jump into this episode, I'd just say a brief comment about what power looks

like.

He said, what I'm mindful of is that there are many ways to build power.

We build power in the street at the dinner table, in the classroom, at the boardroom.

We also build power at the ballot box.

And there's not just one way to build power.

I worry that I've heard so much rhetoric that's like, I'm not going to vote because that's

not the way to build power.

It's like, the reality is that there's no one way to build power.

There are many ways to build power.

We need to make sure that we use every tool in our toolkit, and that is one of the reasons

why you vote.

You vote as another way to build power.

And I think about power as the ability to influence a decision making process.

And politics is the decision making process.

And you want to make sure that you can push from that process as much as possible.
