Americans are casting their votes in the closest presidential election in modern history.

I'm Elizabeth Mitchell, and this is the Trump are neck in neck in the polls.

Polls indicate Trump and Harris are nearly tied in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Within each swing state, several counties are also too close to call

and they could be the deciding factors in who wins each state. Control of the House of Representatives

in the Senate also hangs in the balance this election, with close races in several states

expected to determine whether Congress will flip for the next two years and if one party might enjoy

control of both chambers.

Who the heck knows?

I think that we'll see a lot of unanswered questions come Wednesday morning.

I don't think that this election is over any time tonight.

So maybe the best thing for your mental health and your physical health is to go to bed

at a reasonable hour and wake up and see just how the votes have come in.

Because there's some outstanding questions in places like Michigan, for example, with new voting laws there, how exactly are they going to count the ballots?

Is it going to be a mix of Election Day and mail-in ballots coming in?

Is it going to be more mail-in and then Election Day and then flip back to mail-in?

And of course, all this varies state by state.
