It's always sunny in Philadelphia is probably one of the darkest shows on television.

It's a show that will casually toss off a reference to crack cocaine or abortions or something else that's generally considered to be pretty awful.

It's also one of the funniest shows on television.

The distinction, I guess, is that while the main characters, they're a group of young people, plus Danny DeVito, who own a bar in Philadelphia together, do terrible things.

Those terrible things generally grow out of their very hopeful and positive intentions.

My guests on the show are Rob McElhenny and Glenn Howerton.

Rob McElhenny created the show so that he and his friends, including Glenn Howerton, could have something to work on.

They shot the pilot themselves, and even now they run the show.
