Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last searchlight program, we began looking at a very well-known Bible verse.

It is Romans 828, where we are told that all things work together for good.

To understand this truth, we are looking at the Old Testament's story of Jacob.

Jacob had 12 sons, and he thought that his favorite son, Joseph, had been killed. And now there was a

famine in the land, and the family went to Egypt to buy food. While there, another son, Simian, was

held in Egypt and not allowed to go back to Israel. And Jacob cried out that all things were

working against him. Just the opposite of the

truth we are told in Romans. So how does all this work out? And what does it mean to us?

For the answers to these questions, here now is Pastor John.

Jacob here is completely wrong about what happened.

Joseph wasn't dead.

As a matter of fact, he was in good health.
