It's been a little over a week since the Republican convention ended

It was a high point

We were excited

I want to take this opportunity to play one of the best convention speeches ever given. If you listen to our show at about that time, I played a little bit of this, but I want you to hear

the entirety of it. It was from inside the Houston Astrodome in 1992. Pat Buchanan, who was a speech writer for Richard Nixon, he would go on to be a

columnist, he would go on to be a TV commentator, he would go on to be a TV commentator, he did a firing line.

It's an interesting guy, a bit of a kermudgeonly,

r-t-r-t-r-tt-tur, kind of guy, but, but well-read and well-thought on issues.

You could disagree with him, but well-thought.

He gave a speech 32 years ahead of its time. The speech he gave about the

culture war in 1992 deserves to be heard again and that's why it's this week's Saturday

podcast Pat Buchanan at the 1992 GOP convention.

What a terrific crowd is is. What a terrific crowd is is what a terrific crowd. This may even be larger

than the crowd I had in Ella J, Georgia.

Don't laugh, we carried L.J. Listen, my friends, we may have taken the long way home, but we finally got here to Houston. And the first thing I want to do tonight is to congratulate President George Bush and to remove any doubt about where we stand.

The primaries are over, the heart is strong again,

and the Buchanan brigades are enlisted all the way to a great Republican comeback victory in November. My friends, my friends, like many of you last month I watched that giant masquerade ball up at Madison Square Garden

where 20,000 liberals and radicals came dressed up as moderates and centrist in the greatest single exhibition of cross-dressing in American

political history.
