Now before we go to Matthew, the Gospel of Matthew, chapter number 15, let's offer up this as our confession on today.

Let's say this, everybody, Heavenly Father, only you can purify my heart. I surrender my heart

to you. I need to experience transformation in my mind. You sit your word to heal me in totality. I surrender my will to you. Believing, you will empower me and transform me so that I am a vessel of honor suitable for your use in the name of

Jesus Christ and the church said this is a gospel according to Matthew chapter number 15

for clarity's sake let's just start reading at verse number one.

Some Pharisees and teachers of religious law now arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus.

And let it not be said about us that we're only here to be spectators, to be judgmental.

Not those who just come to see, but there's something that we really want to experience.

These teachers of religious law arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus.

They ask him, why do your disciples disobey our age-old tradition?

For they ignore our tradition of ceremonial hand-washing before they eat.

Jesus replied, and why do you?

By your traditions violate the direct commandments of God.

For instance, God says, honor your father and mother.

And anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.

But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, sorry, I can't help you.

For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you. They want to excuse their

disobedience. In this way, you say that you don't need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the

sake of your own tradition. You hypocrites, Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you for

he wrote, this is in Isaiah 29, 13. these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far

from me. Their worship is a farce. That's a comedic literary. It's highly exaggerated, for they teach man-made
