Listen, my name is Aaron. I'm one of the pastors here and it's my joy to open God's Word with you today.

And we're going to start today in Philippians chapter 4. So if you have a copy of the scriptures, I'd invite you to turn there.

If you have a smartphone with a scripture app, I'd invite you to go there or you can just

watch on the screen. But we're going to stand this morning in the honor or this afternoon in the honor of reading of God's Word.

So I'd invite you to stand with me as we read Philippians chapter 4, verse 4 through 9.

And here's what it says, starting in verse 4, it says, rejoice in the Lord always.

Again, I will say rejoice. Let your reasonfulness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand.

Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.

Let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there's any excellence,

if there's anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things and the God of peace will be with you.

Let's read that last line together again. It says, practice these things and the God of peace will be with you, one more time.

Practice these things and the God of peace will be with you, one more time with conviction.

practice these things and the God of peace will be with you.

Jesus, we ask that you come right now and meet us in our midst.

And God, we are coming to you with open hearts,

wanting to receive from you, realizing that your word

does not return void, that your word is sharp

and can correct us, can instruct us, can encourage us.

And so God, we pray that you do all those things right now.

In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.
