And greetings, my friends, patriots, lovers of democracy, truth and justice, believers

and peace, freedom, and the American way, Tom Harbin here with your broadcasting live

from Portland.

And the hearings for the Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett are going on.

Right now they're on pause.

They took a lunch break.

But I believe they're going to be back in 20 or 30 minutes.

And we will be carrying at least much or some of those hearings live.

One of the things that we've learned from previous hearings is that carrying the Republicans

live is often kind of a waste of time because they're just doing their verbal diarrhea thing.

And carrying the Democrats live is sometimes very, very illuminating in situations like this

because they have something to say that largely is not being said.

I'll bring you up to date on what's been said so far, basically.

We start out with the opening statements, of course.

And what's interesting is the Republicans keep emphasizing the fact that Amy Coney Barrett

grew up in this very small 1700 member hardcore Christian handmade cult and is Catholic.

And they keep yelling and screaming about somebody not liking her or not wanting to vote

for her because she's Catholic and because she grew up in this fundamentalist cult.

And Catholic cult and they haven't used the word cult, but they've just danced right

up to the edge of it, the Republicans.

The Democrats have yet to bring the topic up.
