Let's pray together.

Whom have I in heaven but you and on earth there is nothing that I desire besides you

my flesh and my heart may fail but you are the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Father I ask for your help now so that I would be faithful to your word,

and that you would grant the clarity and the humility and the wisdom for me and then an openness and

receptivity to what you have to say.

And if anything I have prepared is unhelpful,

cancel it out, make me forget it.

And if there is more to say that I have thought I might say bring it to my mind I

pray for the good of these brothers I ask this in Jesus name

amen. Let me begin with a question and then we'll circle back around to the answer in a few minutes.

The question is this, why would you want to be forgiven by God for your sins?

Why?

There is more than one right answer to that question,

why you would want to be forgiven.

But there is only one answer that makes all the other right answers right.

So be thinking about that now for the next minute or two.

Well I set the stage for where did that come from.

The Gospel, as it's defined in 1st Corinthians 15, I presented to you, I gave to you, I delivered to you as of first

importance what I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried and that he was raised

again according to the scriptures.
