You know, Einstein lived and Feynman and Newton and all these other folks that came before us.

How do we improve upon them?

I think the joy of it is that there's so much out there that we don't

know and is out there left to discover.

The Industrial Revolution was a time of world-changing inventions, inventions that suddenly gave

people the ability to fly airplanes and drive

cars, call a friend by telephone, and turn on the light with electricity. Today, we're in the

midst of another revolution, the energy revolution. Here at the Skunkworks, a small team of people

are trying to solve a massive problem.

It's a problem that scientists have been trying to solve for over 60 years.

Dr. Tom McGuire is the co-founder and technical lead of the Compact Fusion program here at the

Skunkworks. Tom likes to solve problems. During our interview, he noticed

our solution to recording in a noisy production facility. We're doing this interview in a

makeshift tent, which is pretty much an anechoic chamber made out of makeshift materials because

you had a problem that you had to solve and you made it happen.
