Summary
This week, we talk to the phenomenal Ade Balogun about two of our favourite things; work and family! Ade has had an interesting career; from architecture to e-commerce to simultaneously owning a hair salon and working on renewable energy for low income households. After discussing her career journey, we delve into her family life, discussing her blissful childhood and early adulthood as a sort of, kind of only child to a decade long rift with her father and their reconciliation. We also get into what it’s like dealing with the public health system while caring for a sick parent, and honouring a parents religious beliefs and performing traditional rites in their honour. It’s a really interesting discussion.
