our studios in Central London I'm Julian Marshall. In a moment the Israeli offensive in Northern Gaza intensifies.

having on the US presidential race, the Democratic Party,

Party, Comler Harris, recently sought to reassure voters

she favors more gun controls without wanting to take away everyone's guns.

I think for far too long on the issue of gun violence,

some people have been pushing a really false choice

to suggest you're either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take

everyone's guns away. I'm in favor of the Second Amendment and I'm in favor of

assault weapons bans, universal background checks, Red Flag Laws.

And these are just common sense.

We'll discuss the gun control debate in the US presidential election later in this edition of Newza,

but first Israel's current offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon has tended to obscure Israel's ongoing operation in Gaza

aimed at destroying Hamas and now in its second year.

It's a goal that has involved the Israeli military coming back to the same areas repeatedly in new

offensives or to where Hamas has become resurgent or regrouped.

Over the past week, the Javalia refugee camp in northern Gaza has been one such location,

and now the medical charity MSF say Israeli bombardments there are turning neighborhoods into uninhabitable ruins.
