stories the Israeli military says its troops have reached the coast to cut Gaza

in two and encircle Gaza City where intense

fighting is raging with Hamas. State media in Lebanon says an Israeli strike on a

car near the border has killed four civilians, three of them children.

And a hostage crisis at Hamburg Airport in Germany has ended with the arrest of the

suspect and the safe rescue of a child.

But first big explosions were reported on Sunday evening in northern Gaza where the Israeli army is engaged in an intense battle with Hamas.

Video footage showed an enormous fireball in the area.

Then Israel said its forces had cut Gaza in two after its ground

offensive against Hamas reached the coast of the Palestinian territory. Rear Admiral

Daniel Hagari is Israel's army spokesman.

Today, IDF forces led by Golani encircled Gaza City.
