Yoaf Gallant, Israel's Defence Minister, said his country would do everything needed to

quote, ensure that Gaza will pose no threat to Israel.

But he insisted there should be quote no Israeli civilian presence in the enclave when fighting finishes.

Previously Israel's leaders have given few details on how they think Gaza should be governed after the wall.

Meanwhile Anthony Blinkin, America's Secretary of State, arrived in

Turkey, the first stop and a trip that will also include visits to Israel and

the West Bank.

America's Supreme Court agreed to hear Donald Trump's appeal against the ruling that he is ineligible to appear on Colorado's Republican primary ballot.

In December, that state Supreme Court disqualified him,

pointing to a provision in the 14th Amendment barring insurrectionists who have earlier sworn to support the Constitution from office.

Similar cases are pending across the country.

The court will hear arguments next month.

America's jobs market strengthened unexpectedly,

adding 216,000 jobs in December.

The unemployment rate remained at 3.7%.
