Hello, now last time Dr. Katchadler was on newscast, we were talking all things European,

but what I didn't mention is that she had mentioned that she was just about to pack her bags and go to the Middle East and she's been presenting lots of news coverage from Jerusalem over the last couple of weeks and she's managed to carve out a bit of time away from the

rolling news channels to be on newscast hello ketchup. Hello lovely to be with you

I mean ketchup I hate it when news presenters say to correspondence and we've both

been in both jobs they say some up the mood for us in this incredibly complicated

place that's gone through a huge big thing but just tell me just tell me some

words or some images or some sounds or some feelings that

sums up what it's like being there at the moment.

So I think Israel in the first days following those unprecedented attacks

was incredibly quiet.

It's normally very, very loud.

Lots of hooting in the streets, lots of shouting in the streets

and arm gesticulating.

It was deserted in the streets. In the meantime schools have

reopened and people are going back to work but there are sirens going all the time

across the country warning of incoming rocket fire.

And in the Palestinian territories,

or the West Bank is just inflamed

with clashes with Israeli military.

People are devastated and angry about what they see in Gaza and of course well we know

from the news coverage about what's going on in the Gaza strip with Israeli hostages
